My Christmas Shopping At Bangsar Shopping Centre (BSC)

I've mentioned in my previous post on me going round the malls in Kay El to shoot the Christmas deco.

Well, I recently also ended up at Bangsar Shopping Centre (BSC). Now, this mall is never known for its extensive decorations.

In fact, I've heard comments on it being rather plain and some say boring.. as "every year is the same old thing".

I guess I have to agree that the Christmas deco here really have nothing much to shout about.

But still, the mood here is merry. I love the concourse - the one that is near the supermart.. For the whole area turns into a Christmas theme, with really cool stuff to see and buy!

There's the dessert like nut cakes which were yummy.. and while it's a lil on the pricier range, but it's really delicious! You can guess - I just have had to buy a few of them!

The other one that I like is the Christmas gift set.. that looks like a mini Christmas tree. Owh and it's quite well stuffed too! Wrapped chocolates, nuts and a bottle of colourful chocolates (comes in 1 colour per bottle) are in it.

Well that too went into my shopping cart.. Like I said, it's yummy and the 'tree' makes it one nice decoration!

There are other nice stuffs too in that area which are eye candy.. Eg. the Santa cakes.

Even the gingerbread man, and the other sweet & cute stuff, of which are all nicely displayed. I btw bought that super cute smiling gingerbreadman though I've yet to eat it yet!

I'm sure that this is not the only place that sells such stuff. But the whole theme, the arrangement and the products on display sets the mood just right.

Honestly, I don't mind coming back to buy some Christmas goodies for families, friends and (nice) clients.. like that tree set, and enjoy the whole Christmas mood again! ;)

And probably next year too - even though I'm already predicting similar declarations!! :)

Christmas Decorations At Pavilion KL!

I love this merry month! And my aim this year - to take photos and document all of the malls decorations into 1 blog post.

I've visited a few malls in KL, including Pavilion's. But after seeing how beautiful the mall is decorated this December, I've decided to dedicate 1 post just for Pavilion!

The whole theme is very fantasy like. There's the sleigh with Santa! This is cool as finally Santa gets to be all grand and pompous, just like how he is supposed to!

One can take photos with Santa - with monies going to charity.

Another thing I like about this year's Christmas is the structure in the middle which is like those in the theme parks.. except it's with a Christmas feel.

That's really nice, and made nicer by being blended in with the glittering Christmas trees and the all year round red carpet!

The whole place is fantasy like.. and truly a must visit if you are living in KL or coming to the city this December!

*Can't find the info on the snow that have been a highlight the past few years. That will be quite a miss!! Tho it's still worth a visit! :)

Understanding My Skin

Have you heard of Papulex? If you haven't, well it's the new skincare product in town!

And to make their presence known, they are running the Truthseeker Campaign.. where a group of bloggers get to learn about the different skin types, learn how acne is formed and how we can prevent them acnes from forming. And happy news - I'm one of the chosen bloggers! Yay!

To make it more fun, there's a mini competition amongst us bloggers! (gasps!). For we will each be pitting against each other to win a fully paid course of choice at the end if this Lead The Way Blogger Challenge. I've set my mind on a diving course!

So, we have got weekly tasks. And this week, my task was to visit a Skin Specialist. I visited Dr Hew from the Malaysisn Aesthetic Clinic (MAC) in Bangsar.

Now I've always thought that my skin is pretty fine. I mean acne.. those pimples right? Well, it only pops up sometimes. So that should be okay, no?

But owh, I'm a lil wrong cos even blackheads and whiteheads are part of the acne family.

And one cause is because of the oily skin. Again something I thought my skin is not. And again, I'm wrong.

Well I learned a bit more stuff at the clinic too. Like that my skin is "dull" (what a shock! haha!) and this can be a threat to an acne proof skin.

Finally, the meeting ended with me Iearning how to take care and prevent future acnes from forming.

All these are documented in the video below :)

*In next week, I'll be sharing a lil deeper on acne.

*Visit Papulex Fanpage at Papulex Asia. Owh and can you vote for me too - Lead The Way: Blogger Challenge? :)

A Li Yaa Sri Lankan Restaurant

I've never had any Sri Lankan food before, that I know of. And so didn't know what to expect from this Sri Lankan restaurant when I dined there recently.

First off, the interior looks good. It's not the type of restaurant with those traditional interior but instead a rather chic place. One would believe that he/ she have stepped into a western restaurant based on the interior alone (they even have a bar!).

But I'm not complaining. It is nice, comfy and with lighthing that just sets the mood right. And I can't help but I do like their menus with their theme elephants.

I've managed to try a wide array of their dishes but there are a few which stands out more.

The most memorable dish for me is the Sambal Set, which is a platter of 4 types of colourful sambals - curry leaf pesto, red chilli, sweet onion and best of all the coconut!

The sambal came as a good side to enjoy the other dishes.

One of the unique dish here is probably the mixed platter - fried puffs stuffed with various meat like mutton and fish.

The other dish that got my attention is the Idiyappam (plain string hoppers).. well in local terms - similar to that of the local putu mayam. It was fantastic with the coconut at the side.

The appam egg was another highlight here. The lovely sunny side up placed on top of the crispy and thin pancake is the bomb!

Owh and of course, there's the Sri Lankan crab. I'm not a big fan of crabs especially when it's cooked this style but that's just my preference.

The other dishes served here include the fried noodles (Spring Hopper Korthu Chicken), Devil Chicken, Mutton Paal Poriyal, Jaffna Prawn Curry, Doosara Rotti (think chapati), and Briyani rice.

The Vatilaapam dessert made a good sweet ending to the dinner. It wasn't overly sweet, as I have expected and that was a good thing.

In some ways, eating some of these dishes is like eating Malaysian cuisine.. for some of them do taste local but with Sri Lankan names. That's ok unless one is expecting a whole range of different dishes.

Overall, a good place to try if you are curious on Sri Lankan food, or for a place with decently good ambience. For me, I'd probably go back for a not too heavy meal - ordering the apam egg and their drinks.. and tag my egg loving friends along!

*Personally, I would have preferred the dishes spicier especially the Devil's Chicken. But then that will only make it even more Malaysian?
