KL Chilli Pan Mee: Super Kitchen Chilli Pan Mee

I've reviewed on KL's best pan mee before, and here is the one I think comes a close second.. the Super Kitchen Chilli Pan Mee.

If you are hunting for this restaurant, you probably can't miss it from afar.. for the bright yellow signboard is quite attention seeking.

Well why not, anyway. For they do serve pretty good chilli pan mee!!

I used to frequent their outlet in Kota Damansara.. and at the point of writing this, they now have a total of 7 outlets. That's not bad for a family restaurant!

Now back to their chilli pan mee. What sets them apart from the rest is their spicy chilli, and the noodles too. The noodles has a good texture, and it's slightly 'crunchy'.

Add that with the fried anchovies and poached egg, makes it a very delicious simple meal! A meal that some friends would order up to 2-3 bowls!

Owh, it do come with a bowl of potato leaves and pork ball soup - which goes well for the dry noodles. The choice of vegetables here does blend in well as its light to chew, complimenting the noodles.

Btw the restaurant do serve other dishes too like fried pork or Hong Kong baby choi sum, though I don't fancy them that much. Partly, I personally feel it doesn't gel with the noodles.

The only side dish that goes well is perhaps the homemade fried dumpling (sui kow), though the noodles by itself will be a good enough meal.

Just remember to order the fresh ambra fruit juice with sour plum, which is rather refreshing!

I love the idea of having tissue paper hanged on the walls. What a classic!

*I used to eat a lot more of this at my old office in Kota Damansara. You can say it was a lil too much goodness as I had it pretty often (as it was right downstairs!). Btw it's this place that introduced me to KL's version of pan mee - the chilli pan mee!! :)

  1. Suddenly craving for Chili Pan Mee again! Personally I prefer Super Kitchen for the comfort factor and the side dishes. But I agree Kin Kin probably has the best noodles.
