Inspiring Marketing

Though it's past Christmas, but I figured that since this movie is still screening here in Singapore & Malaysia, I would like to share one of the ways the trio of Alvin & The Chipmunks are promoted.

The whole staircase leading up to the cinemas are covered with them. The amount of hard work the workers had to lay on each step can clearly be seen. But of course, it is well worth it... who could miss such a giant poster?

I'm not too sure on the ROI on this, but nevertheless, it was something unique :)

  1. Hi I'm back, It's good to see your developments. Love the contents of your blog, wishing you a prosperous and fruitful 2008

  2. do you know what is lacking from the Alvin and the chipmunk movie?

they did not put up the famous song from the cartoons. which is their popular theme song...

  3. hi quachee,
thx for visiting my blog. would love to receive the interview from you.

    peace :)

  4. The ROI must have been low i guess, i didn't hear that much about this movie. It just came and went, unlike Transformers etc. which people talked about for quite awhile. Haven't watched it myself either.. XD

  5. As of this week, it has actually reached slightly over US$250m... with a US$55m budget. Apparently, I read in the press that this movie is quietly making money.

Of course, I agree, it can't be compared to the blockbuster - Transformers at US$700+m. And which was the best performing movie in Malaysia last year! :)

Oh hey, thank you for commenting! :)
