More Giveaways From Thailand

Hey all, here's time for another round of giveaway!

I've gotten some souvenirs in my recent trip to Pattaya and Bangkok.. a total of 7 items!

To be honest, not all souvenirs are made in Thailand. In fact, only the Pattaya postcards are from Thailand!

The other 3 souvenirs - the bear note pads, the sticker labels and panda stickers are made overseas. But in any case, I found them at the shopping bazaar at Asiatique (well, yes.. Asiatique do sell some really cute stuff).

So, anyway, if you are keen on getting any of these souvenirs.. simply fill up the form below by 6th October 2013. I'll choose the recipients thereafter - and notify you if you are the winner :)

Meantime, stay happy guys!

My New Smiley Sunglasses (Nunettes)

Sunglasses. Or goggles. Whatever name you call them.. I love them lots!

Firstly, the sunglasses serve as a good eye protection. And secondly, like why many use them - cos they are cool.

A 3rd reason - well to cover one's eyes from knowing what they see! Especially those super dark shaded ones.

Or.. like those by Nunettes which has super decorative sunglasses that also covers the eyes!

I recently got them - and boy, was I delighted! It sure us quite cool in a fun way.

I remember wearing them recently in Manila, and the taxi driver couldn't help looking at me.. guessing if I could actually see!

And well, I actually can! Hehe! It's similar to those bee view like glasses that are good for eye sights.

But well, that's not the only reason - I also like this pair of mine for its "Have a nice day" statement on one lense and a smiley on the other :)

For even if I'm not smiling, the glasses should give a certain smile to whoever who glances my way! Or maybe a smirk?

Well, this is my new pair - and while I won't throw my older sunglasses away, this will take 'centrestage' for now ;)

*The Nunettes can be purchased at glassesonline.com.my

Smartphone Comparison (Ninetology U9 X1 vs LG Optimus G Pro)

So you guys know that I won the Ninetology U9 X1 recently. And I've also been invited to join the blogger's phone review program.

What we need to do is to review their phone together with another smartphone in the market, which will be on loan. The list of phone was huge - all the popular models were there - the likes of Samsung, HTC.

But me - well I chose the LG Optimus G Pro.

How do I compare the 2 phones?

As both are Android based, to me there's really not much to compare. It's after all the same operating system. Unlike comparing say the Windows vs iOS vs Android. But well that's coming from a non Android user (yet)!

So the 3 criteria that I zoomed in is
1. The camera function as I use this the most
2. The inbuilt apps (that is free!)
3. The feel

I love LG for the fact that they have this feature to instantly "beautify" your photos. Well, Ninetology has this feature but it's a lil more basic comparatively.

Even the video recording on LG was pretty cool. Amateurs could include sound effects into the videos!

I guess on this part, LG gets the upperhand. But saying that the U9 doesn't loose out terribly. It still has a good camera tool - with nice filters to choose from.

Ok on to the inbuilt apps - I love LG's safety care guide and the data back up. These sure will come in handy when in emergency!

The other app I love from LG - the Polaris Office.. a handy office like app with excel, word and power point. Very convenient for editing (and even creating stuff) on the go.

On U9, I found the flash light app pretty interesting. The light is bright!

On to the feel.. LG feels more heavyweight - which I like. I however love the idea that U9 comes with a phone casing. The only sad part bout this - I didn't get the bright red one but black instead. That would have been a real head turner!

Well, my conclusion - the U9 is a good smartphone by itself. It is something pretty proud for Ninetology to come out with (seriously, this is where I can proudly say Malaysia Boleh!).

But as good as it is, it's still needs a bit of catching up to do to compare to the other heavyweights.

My preferred prize would be the LG, but if I were to have an option to purchase - I might still opt for Ninetology based on its price point (RM1099 vs RM1888).

*Btw, if you are keen on getting updates on Ninetology, do click the banner below. Apart from the latest updates, they are also giving away E-vouchers for those who sign up as well! :)

I Won A Phone (Ninetology U9 X1)!!

I recently won a phone. How cool is that!

I was in a blogger's event of the launch of the new series recently. Ate some food, met some fellow bloggers, and then joined in the games they had.

There was only 1 prize. And it was the the U9 X1. This is one of the new high end models launched by local homegrown brand Ninetology.

Initially, the game was a Q&A of the features of the new models. Whoever guessed wrongly was eliminated. Cut the story short, there's just a few of us left (I did survive some of the phone feature questions tho honestly at that time I was still pretty clueless but was saved by teammates and the media kit in hand!).

Then towards the end of the day - the rules changed. Whoever guesses right wins. Well the final question was "how many stories is their office?"

Seriously?

Well, being fairly new (the company is only 1 year old).. and most Malaysian companies are in shoplots.. I guessed 3. And well.. I was right (though I later found out that they are not in a shoplot but factory lot).

So well, there I was - the winner and proud owner of Ninetology's U9!!

Culture Shock At Walking Street Pattaya

So I was in Pattaya. And my friends told me to go "shopping" at this street - aptly named the Walking Street.

How different could the shopping be.. compared to that to those shopping streets in Phuket or Krabi with rows of fake goods, right?

Oh, well... I was to find out!!

Your "typical" Asian tourists - so innocent!! Haha!

From the outside, the street looks just like any other street. Loads of tourists, some with kids too.

There were some cool shops like this 10D cinema - seriously?

And some nice looking restaurants. Thought the hanging car was quite something too.

Shopping wise - there aren't that much around. Except for some rather quirky (and I mean really quirky stuff) like those above! But well, this is Thailand.. and more so - Pattaya!

And unless one mean another type of "shopping".. which is not just girls. But white girls (Russian perhaps?). And there's many of them around.

So much so that one can be forgiven to thinking that this is not Thailand - but in a foreign country instead! Well, I guess, it's all about the demand and supply!

While I enjoyed the experience walking at Walking Street (pun intended), but I didn't dine in the fanciful restaurants, did no shopping or "shopping". All I bought (and ate)... really is corn - for that night! XD
