Oh Hey, I Spoke At Ninetology AirAsia Plane Livery Event!

Ninetology wrapped a AirAsia plane. Call that plastering its name across the plane end to end.

Cool branding in many ways, and definitely a "wow".

And well, I was there, being part of the historic moment... taking some photos and well, giving a speech there too (oh wow!).

The plane.. is a plane, but when you have your brand name on it, it's definitely a proud moment. Congrats Ninetology in your dream of going ASEAN!

Me and teammate, +Eric Lee Huangshi .

Me and PR mate and teammate Sofea.

The big boss, CEO Sean giving his speech. Part of the main gist - Ninetology made RM180 million last year, and gonna make RM380 million in 2014.

Oh and hey, it's me - giving my "speech". I shared about Our "So Wow For All" Marketing concept - which is about wow-ing fellow Ninetologians throughout this 2014.

Me, the cosplayers, and the 4 colourful U9J1. Hello Catwoman, hello Elsa!

The 1st Wow - is the latest model, a full fledged Android phone.. which does everything a smartphone can do, but only for a price of RM199 (I know, wow!).

There's other Wows too. One of them is the #9Giveaway done every 9th of the month on Ninetology's FB. Last month, we gave out the 100 Doraemon event tickets (which was snapped up by the 1st hour.. yes wow!).

Upcoming will be a heartwarming webseries. Apart from the series, Ninetology will be going around old folks homes, and connecting the old folks with the loved ones by the Ninetology handsets (awwwww).

There's a few other Wows for the year. But well, I didn't reveal further. For after all... the event was about the plane. And I think the plane needed its full glory :)

*I'm proud to have given the opportunity to speak at this event. The 2nd for me this year, so far.. the first being in MSMW. Yay!

*Btw for those of you who wanna watch my "speech".. here it is. I'm told by some, it's pretty awesome hahahaha! :P

Ninetology U9Z1 Review (And Ryu's Hoduken!)

Android phones. What another one?

Well yes, and again I'm here to share with you guys on one of Ninetology's latest and premium smartphones - the U9Z1.

Firstly, before we dig into the model, here's some overview. Ninetology prides itself as an ASEAN brand, with sales channels across Malaysia and Indonesia.

And the U9 series (also pronounced at "unite"), is the higher end models from the company.

The company launched 3 new models under the U9 series - the X1, Z1 and Z1+. I have btw, reviewed the X1 previously.

And well, this time round, I'm reviewing their other model - the "larger than life" Z1. The reason for the tagline? Well, it's the size - for this phablet is 5.7 inches wide.

But that's not all - it also has gorilla corning glass ie strong glass that don't break so easily.. which means you can play ping pong with it (well, if you don't have a bat.. why not right?).

The back is the aluminium back body! That's quite something as compared to many plastic-ky Android phones in the market!

There's a few other features to this model as well.. to which I've compiled the features into a video. Oh and in case you are wondering why the title of the post is Ryu's Hoduken.. you'll find the answers in the video!

*More info of the U9Z1 can be found at Ninetology U9Z1 product page

Smartphone Comparison (Ninetology U9 X1 vs LG Optimus G Pro)

So you guys know that I won the Ninetology U9 X1 recently. And I've also been invited to join the blogger's phone review program.

What we need to do is to review their phone together with another smartphone in the market, which will be on loan. The list of phone was huge - all the popular models were there - the likes of Samsung, HTC.

But me - well I chose the LG Optimus G Pro.

How do I compare the 2 phones?

As both are Android based, to me there's really not much to compare. It's after all the same operating system. Unlike comparing say the Windows vs iOS vs Android. But well that's coming from a non Android user (yet)!

So the 3 criteria that I zoomed in is
1. The camera function as I use this the most
2. The inbuilt apps (that is free!)
3. The feel

I love LG for the fact that they have this feature to instantly "beautify" your photos. Well, Ninetology has this feature but it's a lil more basic comparatively.

Even the video recording on LG was pretty cool. Amateurs could include sound effects into the videos!

I guess on this part, LG gets the upperhand. But saying that the U9 doesn't loose out terribly. It still has a good camera tool - with nice filters to choose from.

Ok on to the inbuilt apps - I love LG's safety care guide and the data back up. These sure will come in handy when in emergency!

The other app I love from LG - the Polaris Office.. a handy office like app with excel, word and power point. Very convenient for editing (and even creating stuff) on the go.

On U9, I found the flash light app pretty interesting. The light is bright!

On to the feel.. LG feels more heavyweight - which I like. I however love the idea that U9 comes with a phone casing. The only sad part bout this - I didn't get the bright red one but black instead. That would have been a real head turner!

Well, my conclusion - the U9 is a good smartphone by itself. It is something pretty proud for Ninetology to come out with (seriously, this is where I can proudly say Malaysia Boleh!).

But as good as it is, it's still needs a bit of catching up to do to compare to the other heavyweights.

My preferred prize would be the LG, but if I were to have an option to purchase - I might still opt for Ninetology based on its price point (RM1099 vs RM1888).

I Won A Phone (Ninetology U9 X1)!!

I recently won a phone. How cool is that!

I was in a blogger's event of the launch of the new series recently. Ate some food, met some fellow bloggers, and then joined in the games they had.

There was only 1 prize. And it was the the U9 X1. This is one of the new high end models launched by local homegrown brand Ninetology.

Initially, the game was a Q&A of the features of the new models. Whoever guessed wrongly was eliminated. Cut the story short, there's just a few of us left (I did survive some of the phone feature questions tho honestly at that time I was still pretty clueless but was saved by teammates and the media kit in hand!).

Then towards the end of the day - the rules changed. Whoever guesses right wins. Well the final question was "how many stories is their office?"

Seriously?

Well, being fairly new (the company is only 1 year old).. and most Malaysian companies are in shoplots.. I guessed 3. And well.. I was right (though I later found out that they are not in a shoplot but factory lot).

So well, there I was - the winner and proud owner of Ninetology's U9!!
