Surisit The Thai Kopitiam

Yesterday, was off.. and usually on such days, it's nice to try out some different restaurants for a change.

Over the past weeks, Ive googled for some good food around KL.. and this kopitiam pops up.

Never really had a chance to visit it till yesterday. The push factor yesterday is probably caused by the fact that all things Thai still lingers on my mind after the recent Bangkok trip!

So brunch to the kopitiam it was!

The deco of the restaurant was pretty welcoming.. from the front door to the inside. There's enough deco to give that Thai feel - which I like!

Soon we ordered. Now it's interesting to point that the food is not the usual Thai fare that some more commercial restaurants serve. Instead, the food here is closer to what one will get in eating in a restaurant in Thailand.

So we ordered the Thai prawn curry, the clear water tom yum kung, Thai style fried pork, and banana flower salad.

I must say while all the food was yummy, but the latter 2 dishes were the bomb! I've always love the fried pork having tasted some of the best in Thailand.. and now I can safely say I found it here!

As for the banana flower salad, that was rather unique tho I can't recall if I've had this before.

Then came the desserts. And it started off with the red ruby, which is always yummy. But what I like more was one of my all time favourite desserts - the mango sticky rice!

And they did it quite well. The milk sauce was just the right thickness - like those found in Thailand (really, there's a difference!). The only let down for this is probably the sweet but less sweet mango which I guess can't be helped.

On the whole, this was a good experience.. for food lovers and those who just can't get enough of all things Thai!! :)
