Ohana Means Family: Lilo & Stitch

I've been doing a fair bit of research on some cartoons of late.. and here, I'd like to share my favourite cartoon of all time.. Lilo & Stitch.

lilo & stitch

Here are a few reasons I like this cartoon:
1. Island life!
Some of u will know that I love the beach a lot.. and this cartoon has a fair bit the sea, sand & fun! I also like that the setting is set in a village - somewhat laidback.. ahhh....

2. Cool songs!
While they may not be the most memorable songs from Disney, but what I like about these songs are its upbeat tunes.. where there's a mix of Hawaii traditional music (or so I think) with modern style. And of course, there's some bit of Elvis in them too.

But the one song I like most from the movie is this short clip when Lilo sits with her sister & she sings this beautiful Hawaiian song.

3. Stitch.. Steeeeetch!
Talk abut how characters play an important role in animation.. and here is the alien blue character - mischevious, yet fun, and along the way, learning to have a heart.. awwwwww...

Btw have u seen the teasers Stitch had with the Disney princesses? Very funny arr....!

4. Ohana
"Ohana means family.. and family means nobody gets left behind". What more can I say? This is the most touching animation for me...

I can't explain more.. if you haven't watched before, I suggest you do watch this animation.. it may just melt your heart & give you some good entertainment at the same time! :)

Tools For The Law Of Attraction

Been doing some good reading with @MichaelLosier 's book - The Law Of Attraction.

Recently with so much happenings of late, I just thought that I needed something to read - well not just something, but something good.. something I thought will need to set me back on track. And just like the Law Of Attraction, I went to my rack, and there on my rack - the new & yet to be read book, with its pages waiting to be flipped.

I particularly liked the section which is More Tools To Help You Allow. For simplicity sake, I'll just share this as the Tools For The Law Of Attraction:
1. Celebrate the proof (evidence)
Celebrating proof creates excitement in our lives.. and we then receive much more good things.

2. Record your proof of The Law Of Attraction
More proofs - because we need them, just like the saying "Seeing is believing".

3. Appreciation & Gratitude
This is important to send out positive vibrations.

4. Use the expression "I'm in the process of..."
We may not agree that we always have, but we can agree that we are in the process of having, right? Try this "I have a lot of money" vs "I'm in the process of having a lot of money" :)

5. Use the expression "I've decided..."
By deciding, it gives us positive vibrations.

6. Use the expression "Lots can happen..."
Do u agree that we sometimes think that some companies/ people can just transform within a short period of time - sometimes months or even weeks?

7. Ask for information
We may not have all answers all the time, so let's ask for information to pop up into our lives - eg when reading the newspapers, when attending events, when watching TV, etc.

8. Make yourself an attraction box
Similar to creating a collage of your dreams.. using pictures. Attract things that you want by putting them into a box (or paste them on your collage/ wall).

9. Create a void or a vaccum
Notice each time we buy a new rack, it gets filled up? Do the same for your life - on where you want something to be filled... eg create new space for new files or label the empty files (eg for biz).

10. Allow the Law Of Attraction to figure it out.
Relating to no. 7, sometimes, we just got to 'believe'.. we may not know how things work, but let it just happen.. (and acting on it when it does)!

I hope this summary helps u, someway or rather... and let's just continue to inspire one another to live a happy & fulfilled life :)

*I initially thought that the book The Law Of Attraction is just another book jumping in with the success of The Secret, hence the reason for me delaying the reading. Now that I've read it, I think this can be a compliment to it.

*For those keen on his book, you can get it for 10% off at non other than at:

Remember These Cartoons?

Was just going through some cartoons I've watched as a kid.. and the more I looked around, the more I found. Here are some, which I'm sure some of you can remember.

1. Flinstones

flinstones
Remember their car? Well, this is the 'uber modern' one already. I like the one where they use their feet as wheels! Haha

2. Road Runner

road runner
Never really been a fan of this otherwise silent cartoon except for the more often than not beep beep! But still, I remember watching this over & over again when super young! (how hard is it to catch a bird? haha!!!)

3. Woody Wood Pecker

woody wood pecker
Talking bout bird characters.. remember the other bird. Yeah, this bird that always seems to get its way with its hillarious laugh. Did any of u try to imitate that laugh before? Well, I did! Aha hahaha. ahaha ha.. hahahaha...!

4. Garfield

garfield odie
From birds to cats.. and there's no forgetting one of the most popular cats around.. plus his dog buddy, Odie. How can one cat be just so lazy, with a care-less, somewhat annoying attitude? Now, that's cool...!

5. Heathcliff

heathcliff
And at one time, while there was Garfield, I remember too the other orange cat.. less lazy, but a smart alec and comes with a group of other cats. Though they don't eat lagsana every other time, but spend more time in the garbage area, but still... this is one cool cat too.

6. Felix The Cat

felix the cat
I can't remember much for this black cat.. hardly watched its cartoons. But thought I'll still give it a mention here - together with its other cat characters.

7. Tom & Jerry

tom & jerry
More cats on the way.. this time round, the cat is the bad one, while the mouse is the cool one instead! But just like some of the cartoon above, the bad enemy is just somewhat a lil too silly. What's cool though - that smirk that Jerry always have.

8. Inspector Gadget

inspector gadget
I can't recall all the gadgets this inspector has.. but I'll always remember the funny song.. ta da da da da. inspector gadget.. ta da da da da,,! (remember?)

9. Scooby Doo

scooby doo
Another cartoon which theme song is quite memorable...! I'd say this cartoon is quite nice on how they 'solve' the haunted houses though their process is not very smart!
Scooby, where are you?

10. Popeye

popeye
Now which is your favourite character here? Is it the spinach eating Popeye or tall & flimsy Olive? Or is it the hamburger man? (were the hamburgers he eat vegetables one btw?).

11. Smurfs

smurfs
While everyone were going ga ga over the blue characters in Avatar, but hey, it ain't all new.. Smurfs have been around for a long time, living in their own world singing la la songs eh? And who can ever forget... the only girl Smurf there Smurfette. LOL!

12. Gummy Bears

gummy bears
We then have jumping bears who gets their might from their gummy beary juice. This cartoon is more engaging (to me), as it has more family bonding and at the same time still very cool with its hideaway tree. Still remember they have to pass through a tunnel underground to get out.

13. He-Man

he-man
The names in this cartoon is unique. Yeah, first is He-Man's name himself. No super or anything but simply he.. man. Then there's the evil Skeletor who lives in the Grayskull (yeah, it ain't blue)... and He-Man has a scaredy cat Cringer that can turn into the green & fierce Battle Cat. Put them together, and this is quite an enjoyable cartoon.

14. Alvin & The Chipmunks

alvin & the chipmunks
The talking & singing chipmunks... so mischievous yet still always getting their way. Always remember their theme song... plus the yelling that comes from their caretaker Dave: "Allllllllvvvvvvviiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnn......!"

15. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

teenage mutant ninja turtles
We always think that turtles are slow.. but this 4 turtles with matching eye-bands and names make it otherwise. Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello & Raphael are pretty cool with their ninja stunts & even their weapons.

16. Voltron

voltron
With more Asian looks characters, this cartoon was interesting because the main characters controlled their lions... and which can then combine together and become one big superobot! Really, who would have thought of that! And we thought it's only now we see cool stuff!

17. Captain Planet & The Planeteers

captain planet
Think this is one of the few cartoons that talk about the environment directly. What's cool about this - how each character represent the 5 different elements of Earth, Fire, Wind, Water & Heart (Instinct). Again, they can only work well when their 'forces are combined', which then mister Captain Planet then appears.

Now, here comes my favourite 2 cartoon series of all time.. and they both start with T.

18. Transformers

transformers
A little similar to Voltron in tranformable robots, but the difference here - these robots don't need to be controlled by anoyone. ie they are alive robots. The many different transformations of the vehicles, plus their battle scenes were just amazing!

19. Thundercats

thundercats
Looks like cats still rule the cartoon series world.. Here again, we get a bunch of different characters, each with their own unique characteristics, strengths (and weakness) & not to mention weapons (remember Lion-O's sword? haha)... and the cats work best when united (after the calling of the Hooooooooo!, that is).

Another thing that makes this unique is that the character come from all different kind of cats - from lion (Lion-O) to cheetah (Cheetara), panther (Panthro), tiger (Tygra), WilyKit and WilyKat (wild cats?) and Snarf (the domestic cat?). There were also 3 new characters introduced at a later stage - Pumyra, Chilla, Jagara. Talking bout cats - even their 'home' was made to look like a cat, called the Cat's Lair!

Well, there u have it.. some of the many cartoon series I've watched over the years.. how about you? What's in your list? :))

I Talk Cheap Cheap... Whoa Whow Whoaaaa...!

Ok, I've mentioned before about calling overseas using the iTalkWhoa (read: I Talk.. Whoa!).

i talk whoa

Now, I've got some good news. The rates are now cheaper than ever, starting at 7 sen only to some major destinations (eg Australia, USA, UK, Canada, Australia).

Some of you will surely perk up for this, eh? Especially those with biz in these countries, or have relatives residing here.

For those who don't deal much overseas calls, fret not. As italkwhoa.com is online based, the call is fixed from wherever u call. Meaning if you happen to be touring in mega China, it's still the same rate to call from there to any China no. Now, this comes in handy for the traveler :)

Sincerely, one of the better things that has popped up in Malaysia since... Proton Saga? (ok, that's an exaggeration. haha).

*The promotion for these rates is from 15th July till 31st Dec 2010.

*Btw, here are the call rates, just in case.

15 COOL Malaysian Books

I've always been a supporter of Malaysia. Not about 1Malaysia, but just Malaysia - my country.

I have always believed that Malaysia has lots of potential & many talents... but we lack the platform to promote them. Hence, the many projects I've been doing have all been promoting non other than Malaysia & its talents.

And the latest is the online bookstore, Booqc.com (pronounced book dot com).

My team have put up a huge load of Malaysian published books - from popular Malaysian English titles to hard to find & rare books... and even opened up the Malay book section as well. U can say, we are very much a Malaysian company - at heart.

quote & win contestNow, here is the goodie. We are running a contest, where the Grand Prize is 15 COOL Malaysian books!

Here's the first 4 (2 of which is sponsored by me, myself):
1. Malaysia's Living Heritage - Batik Inspirations

2. An Ah Beng a day keeps the doctor away!

3. 50+1 Malaysia

4. The boy who loves clouds

The other 11 are will be revealed in the weeks to come - stay tuned cos they are really good books!

In the meantime, why don't join the contest - for the fun of it (it's really simple) & at the same time, come promote Malaysia's very own talents? :)

*More information on the contest here: Booqc.com - Contest.

Burger..? Alamak, Terlupa..

U have been craving for Ramly burger the past 3 days & 3 nights already.. and finally, you are free to stop by at that burger stall just outside 7 Eleven today.

"Ahhh finally... burger Ramly, here I come" u say softly to yourself. "This is gonna be my lucky day".

"Pakcik, burger satu" you tells the pak cik who has just started to open his stall 5 minutes ago.

You start dreaming & fantasizing of how yummy the burger will be when you are snapped out from your dream only to get one of these responses:

"Hari ni, takde tisu ya... hari tu I check ada dalam kotak... tapi... tak pe eh?"

or

"Hari ni, timun takde, pakai salad je ok? Rasa pun tak banyak beza sebenarnya.. kasi hiasan je"

or

"Hari ni, takde daging ayam, daging lembu ok? Lupa pulak nak beli daging ayam".

or

"Alamak.. lupa nak bawak roti burger lah.. u tunggu kejap boleh? Pak cik pegi kedai belikan roti... Tak lama, lebih kurang 30 minit, u datanglah balik, burger siap nanti"

Huh? What am I saying right? Ni lah kes kaki lupa.. in the end, your burger night out turns out imperfect.

*I'm writing this in a fun style (and not angry way, though I'm serious about this) to emphasis the importance of remembering things.. this post is specially dedicated to the kaki lupa...
Finally, 'ingat ingat itu remember, jangan lupa itu don't forget'.

How Our Office Got Burgled

Our office got burgled into yesterday. During lunchtime.

Here to share some details, so that others will be more careful.

1155am: Indian man comes, bringing documents. Asks staff about doing the carpet - says he is a contractor. With his documents & staffs blurness, he let himself into the office, scanned around (most probably on how many laptops he can steal, and who else is around).

Staff says boss not in so if anything come back 4 plus.

110pm: Staffs go for lunch.

115pm: There was a delivery to office. Delivery man, when asked, mentions that the wooden door was left open, while our glass door is locked. Couldnt enter so left parcel outside the door.

150pm: Staffs back from lunch. Bumped into the same Indian man + 3/ 4 of his other Indian friends at staircase & staircase entrance. He mentions that he left documents upstairs (staffs most likely assumed it was to our neighbour).

2pm: Staffs realised her room was ransacked. 2 laptops missing.

Apparently we were told by the police officers that this is quite rampant nowadays. Another office not far away had the same fate - the same day and timing not far off.

We got to be extra careful now. For all businesses - big and small, please be too. Don't let anyone into your office - even those with , even those with 'documents' (the documents presented to my staffs were apparently stolen from another company).

*The term Indian here is merely a description to the burglers who my staffs saw, and by no means is racists.
